Goofest is a three-day, DIY music and arts festival, hosted by both Glue Gallery and None Gallery Dunedin. This event is not only showcasing Dunedin’s local underground music and arts talents, but national and international creative forces too. With a combination of visual art, performance and a multitude of musical stylings; this event will prove to be a orientation into the sub-culture of alt music, art making and DIY living in Dunedin and beyond.
With musicians and artists coming from places within New Zealand and Australia, this trans-Tasman event will be hosting 20 bands playing over three days in three separate gigs. The Prophet Hens (dn) 1000 Hues of Gold Fries (dn) Old Growth Cola (Brisbane) Proton Beast (Auck) Bad Sav (dn) Wolfskull (dn) Stanier Balck Five (chch) The Forgotten Guests (dn) The Ladder Is Part of The Pit (dn) QTPI (dn) Opposite Sex (dn) Bruce Tiffany (Melb) Waots (dn) Iso12 (dn) Radio Cegeste (dn) Bullied At School (dn) The Blueness (dn) Sewage (dn) Una Corda (dn) Glee Cartel (melb) Whiskey and The Wench (dn) The Lovely Union of The Scattered Brains (dn).

The Goofest market on Saturday the 18th at Glue Gallery will host local crafts people, non-profit organisations all with a community, creative and sustainable focus. Open 12pm-4pm.
Several contemporary performances will take place during Goofest, including new work by Val Smith and the Red Mars Dance project and Lousie Mahoney. Punk poetry by Bolshy Mc Brad will combine genuine musical exploration and creativity.
“Goofest is really an excuse to bring people together through the mediums of art and music” Says Kelly O’Shea, the Creative Director of Glue Gallery, “once this happens people are able to feel that they are part of something, whether they are the audience or creator”
None and Glue Gallery are both run entirely by volunteers, and are welcoming anyone positive that would like to help out with the festival to contact gluegallerygoo@gmail.com, or for more information about volunteering visit www.goofest.org.
Goofest, DIY music and arts festival has been created to showcase alternative music and art movements within Dunedin and beyond, and also the venues that support such genres. None gallery has hosted a myriad of underground music and bands from around the world for over 8 years, and Glue Gallery hopes to support such bands and artists by selling their music and creative wares through its shop and gallery.
