What is a Game Jam?

A Game Jam is bunch of game developers, guys and gals, getting together and to create a game. Think 48 hour film festival but for game creation.

Participants bring their skills in coding, art, design or music and for two days put aside whatever projects they were working on to make something new.

Unlike the 48 hour film festival the goal isn’t to win, there isn’t a first place. The goal of the Jam is to inspire and encourage developers from Christchurch or the South Island to become active members of the independent video game community.

Don't worry if you can't make a team, in fact we kind of encourage you not to. This year we want to mix things up so we can meet new people. But hey if you want to go with your mates that's all good.

Bring
- A computer to work on
- A good pair of headphones to get into the zone
- Your normal Workflow, So your ready to go.
- Mad skills! Anything from coding to writing music
- Tools of the trade, That could be anything from a tablet to midi keyboard
- Pens and paper
