Art Meet - Affectionately Maori: A close study of Gottfried Lindauer's Heeni Hirini and Child (previously known as Ana Rupene and Child).
A talk by Sukayna Al-Aaraji.
A woman; an infant; swathed together in a cloak. What could be more exotic as a visual metaphor for maternal bonding? This seminar will explore these issues in relation to Lindauer's famous portrait by contextualising it with the rise of photography during this era, and how it affected portrait painting.
