The Firebirds are a group who enjoy working/playing with the process of pottery. Most of us prefer to buy our clay ready to use, but one or two dig and prepare their own.

From opening a bag of clay to holding a piece of glazed pottery, the process is a steep learning curve; and one with many revelations along the way.

Our group aims to offer our shared experiences and to organise tuition with day or weekend schools.

We meet on Thursday evenings in the pottery room at the Quarry Arts Centre. The Quarry has kilns which some of us hire to fire our work. This is on a pay as you go basis.
