An iconic 3.1k ocean swimming event that sees competitors starting at Mission Bay and swimming out, around the back of the Bean Rock Lighthouse and then returning to the beach.
Two distances are offered... 1) the full 3.1k course that rounds the lighthouse, and 2) a half course which allows swimmers who are not as strong to swim halfway to the lighthouse and back around a large orange event buoy. A fun relaxed swim race that is officially timed but does not have an official prizegiving.
