Face up to the Future is a unique opportunity to join with major players in the environmental and conservation field and innovators working to forge new ground in sustainable practices.
“We are asking what do we want to see happen in New Zealand over the next 25-40 years, to support conservation, and sustain both the environment and the economy?” says Forest & Bird General Manager Mike Britton.
Featured speakers will include businessman and philanthropist Gareth Morgan, Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment Jan Wright, Department of Conservation Director-General Al Morrison and Federated Farmers President Bruce Willis.
Sessions will cover the “greening of farming” and the late Sir Paul Callaghan’s vision of a predator-free New Zealand, an idea he described as New Zealand’s “Apollo programme”.
The focus during the Friday evening session will be on what kind of environment young New Zealanders want to inherit and the part they want to play in making it happen. This is sure to be a high-energy event, with comedian Te Radar holding the reins during the evening.
