Belgian historian Charlotte Descamps describes life on the World War 1 battlefield of Ypres nearly 100 years after the bloodshed. Charlotte was born among the fields where the fighting took place and is founding member of the Passchendaele Society 1917, a charity that organises commemoration events. She has been running battlefield tours since 2004.

Her expert session talk will cover what remains from the destruction, including the unearthing of bones, ordinance (200 tons of ammunition is still collected every year) and other objects that are a constant reminder of the grinding war that took place on Flanders Fields.

Expert sessions are suitable for people 7 years and older.
