Course content:
This is a fun workshop which will teach the student everything they need to know, to make, woodcut and monoprint/type artist prints. Students will be encouraged to experiment with reduction, multiblock and embossed printmaking methods. Help will be given at every stage. This workshop is suitable for beginner and experienced artists. Come and learn and enjoy the magic of printmaking
Tutor profile:
Joan has tutored printmaking and drawing techniques at the WSA Community Art School, Hamilton for over 20 years. A professional artist Joan regularly exhibits her artist made prints and paintings in New Zealand and overseas.
The annual “Summer Do” is held in the beautiful and inspirational environment at the Quarry Arts Centre located minutes from Whangarei. The Quarry is the perfect place to immerse yourself in a 7 ½ day or 3 day art courses designed to be stimulating, inclusive, intensive and fun. We invite you to join us, to gain and share experiences and knowledge in the hands of an experienced renowned tutor in this supportive, social and encouraging environment. The “Do” also includes informal talks by participating tutors and fun evening events.
2012 marks the 25th year of the Summer Do making it the longest running art school in New Zealand.
