Emptiness Guided Retreat

Bodh Gaya Buddhist Centre will be holding a meditation retreat at Waihoanga, a secluded retreat centre in Otaki. There is no better way to give yourself a break from the daily routine and reassess your life, than by engaging in a meditation retreat.

Like a mirage that appears to be water but is not in fact water, things appear in a deceptive way. Please join us for a weekend retreat in lush surroundings and discover the truth of how things really exist.

Guided meditations will include:
- What is emptiness?
- The emptiness of the body;
- The emptiness of the self;
- The emptiness of the eight extremes;
- The union of the two truths.

This retreat is scheduled to take place after the five week Emptiness Course running at Bodh Gaya Buddhist Centre in Kelburn (Mondays 7:00pm - 8:30pm, Aug 13 - Sept 10). This course and retreat doesn't happen very often, please take full advantage of this rare opportunity.

The cost includes guided meditations, two nights dormitory style accommodation and meals. The retreat starts with supper at 6pm on Friday and will end after lunchtime on Sunday.

Everyone is welcome to attend regardless of previous experience of meditation or Buddhism.

The teacher:
Kelsang Pagma is the Resident Teacher at Bodh Gaya Buddhist Centre. Pagma is a sincere practitioner who shares Buddha's teachings with gentleness and warmth.
