Wheels of the 50s-60s

The 2012 Wheels of the 50s-60s will deliver a ride not to be missed!

Cars from over three continents will ignite passions as they immerse visitors to Arena 2 in unashamed waves of nostalgia as part of the Square Affair Retro Festival! Plus the added bonus of motorcycles, sidecars and scooters to bring on memories of teenage thrills, spills and moments we all thought were behind us.

Wicked collections of fast, famous, wacky, ingenious and wonderful motoring legends representing our region's most extensive presentation of what we drove and how we drove it through the jazz, swing and rock eras. Expect to see classic cars, hot rods, a hearse, limousines, vintage caravans, a few vespas, motorbikes and a Model A that was used in the King Kong movie. Alongside the cars will be some cool retro eye candy available for sale - things like vintage leather helmets and signs.

Look for the early American V8 enthusiasts rally and show over Saturday and Sunday, with a concourse showing in the Civic Square on Saturday morning, and free concerts by the Brisbane City Temple Salvation Army band.
