A long-time member of The John Butler Trio and touring drummer with Kiwi legends Split Enz, Michael Barker (drums/ percussion/ vocals) has joined with Tauranga singer-songwriter guitar great, Grant Haua to form power blues duo Swamp Thing. These two unique musicians share a wealth of experience to craft blues-flavored music with a deep groove and soulful spook. Swamp Thing’s first album ‘Balladeer’ was recorded at Roundhead studio in May 2011. In addition to appearances at Woodford Folk Festival QLD, Peatsridge Festival NSW and Blues at Bridgetown 2011 saw Swamp Thing support Tim Finn on his View is Worth the Climb Australian tour.
