Internationally-renowned Wagnerian tenor Simon O’Neill returns home to join the crème de la crème of New Zealand and international singers for this concert performance of Wagner’s astounding The Valkyrie (Die Walküre).
Very rarely are New Zealand audiences treated to Wagner’s epic music dramas, here the timeless mountains bear witness to a famous act of compassion and betrayal. Full of love, infidelity, abandonment and incest, The Valkyrie features some of the composer’s most memorable music, including the awe-inspiring Ride of the Valkyries.
