Having navigated from ‘grassroots indie acclaim, through to big-time breakout... to genuine OK-they’re-a-proper-big-deal-now’ (NME), this platinum-selling and Grammy-nominated quartet sit on the throne of indie-rock royalty.

For nearly 15 years, Seattle-based group Death Cab for Cutie has been producing music that boldly defies popular fashions and fast-fading trends. It’s a philosophy that has seen them retain fierce loyalty and respect from fans that devour their powerful, melodic, and complex indie pop/rock that is always sophisticated and effortlessly cool.

Each of the band’s albums shows a distinct progression and movement from the last. Their sixth release Narrow Stairs went all the way to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, while their latest, Codes and Keys, astounds with soaring sonic explorations and lyrical ambition.

Five of Death Cab’s pre-Festival gigs in Australia have already sold out. If you want to catch their first and only New Zealand performance, get in quick.

I am so excited about this event. Death cab for Cutie are my favourite band and I feel like I have waited for this for years. Seeing them live was on my list of things to do this year and them being playing in the city I am living in is fate. This is going to be life changing! I hope they play their earlier hits like 405 and Tiny Vessels!! Also was curious as to if anyone knows if we are allowed to bring a camera with us?
