County of Kings is spoken word performer Lemon Andersen’s memoir of an astonishing life: the story of the child of heroin addicts who both died of AIDS, he dropped out of high school and spent a few years in and out of jail before discovering his artistic talent as a poet and the path to redemption that it offered.
A Tony Award later, a run of his solo theatre show, based on his life story, at New York’s Public Theater was produced by filmmaker Spike Lee. Lemon performs excerpts from his play, speaks with Nick Dwyer and answers audience questions.
