Saxcess - Sax In the City

The Story of Adolphe Sax
A kaleidoscope of music illustrating the fascinating story of Belgian-born Adolf Sax, a flute and clarinet player, who followed in his father’s footsteps as a designer of musical instruments. Sax settled in Paris in the 1840s where he worked on a range of brass instruments known as saxhorns, and made various improvements to clarinets and other instruments. But he is best known as the inventor of the saxophone. Saxcess presents an intriguing narrative with music demonstrating their trade mark diversity of styles ranging from medieval, classical and baroque to tango, cutting edge contemporary, klezmer and jazz.
