Covering Casting - weekend course.
Beginner and advanced students.
Tutor: Vaune Mason.
A fabulous introduction to the exciting art of casting in silver. This course will cover the basics of sand casting, cuttlefish casting and casting ingots to be formed into bar, sheet and wire.
Experiment on your first day, learning the techniques; then choose a project to finish on your second day. Extras like cuff-link findings, stones, sheet and wire can be supplied.
Simple projects like: cast rings, cufflinks or earrings with a small stone set as a detail are very achievable.
More advanced students may wish to create something more challenging - combining the elements and textures from several forms of casting.
Please note: jewellery students - this is a fantastic way to use up your scrap silver and save money!
