This lush green island sits slightly south east of Auckland’s St Heliers Bay. It is a protected nature reserve and the swim to it is usually fairly sheltered but negotiates some shallow rocks and reefs. The 7.8km swim is a challenging but rewarding distance and has to be done around the high tide.
Start time: 3pm at St Heliers Bay Beach
Registration: between 12:30-2pm at race venue on race day
Briefing: 2:30pm
Finish: St Heliers Bay Beach. 6:45pm cut-off to reach Ladies Bay
Distance: 7.8KM
High Tide: 3:15pm
Cost: $30 per person or $50 for a 2 person team. Cash or cheque.
Prize giving: 7pm. All individual swim entrants receive a finishers medal. Exciting spot prizes to be won, including Aqua Sphere goggles & 2XU Wetsuit
