This two-day workshop will cover a basic introduction to Max/MSP/Jitter and its use in building interactive multimedia projects. You will work through a series of activities learning about how Max is used in a creative way and work towards developing your own ideas and your own patch while exploring different outcomes.
Max/MSP/Jitter is graphical programming software used in installation and performance art, computer music, theatre, VJ performance, data visualisation, robotics, and much more. Because the visual interface is easy to use compared to conventional programming, anyone can learn how to create complex programs in a relatively short period of time!
Watch an example of Max/MSP/Jitter being used in a violin performance:

Max gives you the parts to make your own music, sound, video, and interactive media applications without having to compile a single line of code. Simply add objects to a visual canvas and connect them together to make noise, experiment, and play. This workshop is aimed at visual artists, art and design students, and anyone wanting to bring their art to life.
Held in Room WE604, Level 6, WE Building, St Paul St, AUT University.
