Want to learn to be a Masterchef Asian Cook? Come have an exclusive fully hands-on cooking experience (not just a demonstration!) & get a Black Belt with the Sachie¹s Kitchen: Brigade 6! It is the first-ever congregation of 6 of the most acclaimed Head Chefs in NZ.
Welcome Nick Honeyman of 'Cru' in Sales Street to the Brigade 6! Born and raised in South Africa, Nick took off at 18 to pursue what he describes as "a burning passion for cooking". He flew straight to Sydney where he enrolled on a four-year cooking apprenticeship. He tore through it in less than three years and then set about targeting the world of Michelin-starred restaurants, working for great chefs such as Alain Passard (L'arpege), Pascal Barbot (L'astrance) and Iron Chef Sakai in Tokyo before making the move to New Zealand in 2009.
One really cool example of Nick¹s background is that every year, for the past three years, he's taken off to France for a stint at Le Petit Leon, a small restaurant that's only open for nine weeks, from July to September as the Head Chef. An interesting aside he was rated the 29th hottest man in Auckland!
The Brigade 6 was amassed as a brainchild/concept of Japanese culinary sensation, Sachie Nomura they are looking to revolutionise the foodie scene by running a series of boutique fully-hands-on cooking classes where foodies can attain a guest 'Black Belt' in Asian cooking. All members of the Brigade are current Finalists or Winners of awards in the 2011 NZ or Australian
culinary scene. See more at http://www.sachieskitchen.com/apps/blog
