Join us in historic Waipu for 5 days of musical discovery and fun with David Greenberg (Cape Breton fiddle and baroque violin), Chris Norman (flutes and small pipes), and Barry Phillips (cello, composition); all artists who seek a broad context and canvas for their work and infuse their view of traditional music with influences as diverse as jazz, Irish, Acadian, Breton, classical Indian and baroque idioms.
There will be lots of traditional music as well as opportunities for baroque and renaissance playing. We'll discover connections between traditions, expand musical vocabulary, learn new techniques and broaden our sense of musical possibilities. The evenings will be filled with social gatherings that include excellent meals, concerts, social dancing, informal gatherings and sessions of music-making with students and teachers alike. We welcome fiddle, flutes, whistles, pipes, cello, students as well as players of all instruments at all levels.
