Be the adventurer you always knew you were. Guided by new technologies and an unstoppable desire for uncertainty, Vitamin S in collaboration with Co-Lab and STAMP at THE EDGE want you to experience the cross-bred exotic performance that is Bathing with Elephants and other Exotic Reveries, mixing genre and technology like a kitchen-whizz in a Bombay spice shop.
Vitamin S, Co-Lab and THE EDGE, co-lab-orate to bring a new vision to Auckland’s lavish theatrical palace, The Civic in January 2012. Set amongst the fantastical beauty of the Civic theatre foyer rooms - Safari and Taj Mahal - a diverse array of performers, designers and artists will create an exciting multi-sensory experience.
Featuring new works by Geoff Gilson, Bronwyn Bent, Kim Newall, Genevieve McLean, Tsubasa Kawamoto, John Bell, Sam Hamilton, and Andrew McMillan the artists of Bathing with Elephants and other Exotic Reveries have been given an opportunity to challenge and redefine what performance and art is.
Performances will include music/sound, movement/dance, voice/text, combined with interactive sensors and other triggers manipulating aspects of the performance along with creating and manipulating the visual space giving audience members an opportunity to be a part of the art themselves.
Anyone who loves contemporary art, theatre and music and those who are wanting to be extended and challenged need look no further than Bathing with Elephants and Other Exotic Reveries and their exciting and unique vision of the future.
