The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra is disappointed to announce that Deborah Voigt is unable to appear with the orchestra in the APN News & Media Premier Series ‘Diva’ Concert as scheduled on 12 July. She is undergoing emergency hip surgery this Wednesday US time, and has therefore had to cancel her Australasian performances.

Ms Voigt has expressed her immense disappointment and offers her sincere apologies to her many New Zealand fans.

The APO is delighted to announce that Christine Brewer will be taking her place. Ms Brewer was declared a “superlative Strauss singer” by the New York Times and is admired around the world for her range, golden tone, power and control.

BBC Music Magazine named her as one of the Top 20 Sopranos of the 20th Century and she is widely regarded as one of the best Isoldes in the world today.
