Death in the Gallery: An Examination of Death in Art.
A seminar by Amy Stewart, hosted by the Friends of the Auckland Art Gallery.
The theme of death has been a subject of art since the beginning of art itself, and it is safe to say most forms of death have been documented. As something all humans experience, death uniquely binds us. This talk elaborates on ways artists have engaged with the theme of death, incorporating images from the Gallery’s collection.
