Waiheke-based drummer Alain Koetsier completed an Honours degree in music at the New Zealand School of Music under the tutelage of Frank Gibson and has performed around the Auckland Jazz scene for many years, including a tour with Georgie Fame and yearly appearances at the Tauranga Jazz festival.

He has established himself as a hard-swinging sideman with a fiery, polyrhthmic sound, playing on Brian Smith's album Taupo (2007), and most recently on Phil Broadhurst's Delayed Reaction (finalist for 'Jazz Album of the Year' in the 2012 Tui Music Awards) and Nathan Haines' upcoming album The Poet's Embrace.

This newly-formed quartet will play a repertoire of all-New Zealand music, including pieces from the members of the band and some of the country's finest Jazz composers. Don't miss this!
