As part of the closing of Bedazzled exhibition, curator Leanne Wickham will entertain in an exclusive talk about the amazing history and beautiful garments of the Royal New Zealand Ballet. Leanne works for The Dowse Art Museum as Curator Programmes & Events.

Be dazzled by the opulent costumes of New Zealand designer Kristian Fredrikson. The exhibition includes gorgeous garments and detailed drawings from nine ballets including Cinderella, Peter Pan, Swan Lake and A Christmas Carol.
Highlights include Cinderella’s ball dress, Princess Odile’s tutu from Swan Lake, the phantoms from A Christmas Carol and the brightly patterned chorus from A Servant of Two Masters.
The show offers a detailed look at Fredrikson’s designs, acclaimed for their sumptuous, jewel-like qualities, hidden meanings and underlying symbolism.
