New Zealand's 4th WSSA sanctioned National Sport Stacking Tournament will be held at Arena 3 in Arena Manawatu.
There will be over 200 children coming from across New Zealand to compete in 7 different events (3 individual, 2 double and 2 team), in 20 different age groups. The competitors are competing for the title of the New Zealand Sport Stacking All-Round Champion, 2012. The NZ Black Stacks team members that travelled to Germany in April to compete at the World Sport Stacking Championships will be back at our National Champs. Three of the NZ team came back with 10 medals and a trophy from their Individual events!
Sport stacking is an exciting individual and team sport where participants stack and unstack 12 specially designed plastic cups in a pre-determined sequence.
Sport stacking with speed stacks has featured on TV One's Breakfast Show with Paul & Pippa, Pukana, Dare to Win, Hyundai Code and TV3's Campbell Live with footage from Whakarongo School as well as at the launch of the 2011 Super 15 NZ Rugby teams and also on the Erin Simpson Show.
Spectators may join the sport stackers, instructors and volunteers from 9.00am.
