The battle for the National Points Shield begins again.
Southland has held the symbol of track cycling supremacy for the last four years but the rest of the country have their eyes on the prize.
The RaboDirect National Track Cycling Championships begin with the Elite Championships (including the Under 19 Men and Women Omniums) over Waitangi weekend from February 4 to 6.
Then the 2012 winning centre will be decided after the RaboDirect National Age Group Championships from February 29th to March 3rd.
With Olympic selection and vital qualification points on the line racing will be spectacular. Get to Stadium Southland Velodrome over Waitangi weekend with sessions to be held daily at 11am and 6.30pm.
The road to London starts in Invercargill.
