To celebrate the life and ideas of Colenso – one of the fathers of New Zealand – on the bicentenary of his birth the Hawke’s Bay Museum and Art Gallery, Napier has planned a programme of events from 9 – 13 November 2011.
This special service with the Bishop of Waiapu, David Rice will be a Choral Eucharist with the Cathedral Choir; and include symbols of Colenso’s ministry in the church. East Coast born Bishop John Bluck, 14th Anglican Bishop of Waiapu will preach on William Colenso.
