Join us for a celebration as Te Papa honours the Kingdom of Tonga.

Meet with members of the Tongan community. Recognisable by their traditional costume - and their friendly approachability - they’ll be more than willing to answer any questions or just chat away.

You’ll also have an opportunity to watch - and try your hand at - the age-old tradition of tapa making. Marvel at the skill and expertise that goes into Tonga’s most famous art form.

10:30am-11:15am: Tongan Brass Band.
12pm-12:45pm: Concert featuring the Wgtn Tongan community and the Pacific Pavarotti, Ben Makisi.
