The exhibition is to be held in the Hamilton Gardens Pavilion on the 12-13 November. The cost for entry is a gold coin donation.

There will be an official opening on the evening of Friday 11th November from 5pm, to which all competitors' families are invited.

All the entries that were short-listed by the judges as finalists will be mounted and displayed for everyone to appreciate. Each entrant has also written about the photo they have entered, so that you can read their thought about their photo.

The competition has been divided into nine categories:

7 Waikato Up to year 6

9 Waikato Years 10 - 13

There will also be an overall 1st Prize awarded to the Waikato Photographic Society Young Photographer of the Year of:
A Nikon DS3100 (DSLR) camera with 18-55 lens
A Manfrotto photo/movie tripod
A Lowepro Passport Slingbag
A SanDisk Extreme Pro 16GB

Other prizes include:
Cameras, memory cards, tripods, camera bags and pouches, printers and photo paper, vouchers and a year's membership to WPS

We went to the Friday evening exhibition. Fantastic photographs by very talented young people. My 5 year old son enjoyed receiving his award and he was very proud to see his photograph mounted and on display. Well done to everyone involved. The book for sale showing all the photographs is great. We look forward to seeing the competitor's photographs next year. The Barnes family.
