Artworks Community Theatre

Hailing from the hills and valleys west of Auckland, The Nukes are an all-original ukulele trio who take audiences to new levels of appreciation through clever, heart-felt and humour-laden gigs that are simply contagious. The quality of The Nukes’ songs and musicianship is steadily drawing attention from across New Zealand.

All three members are accomplished musicians with decades of music industry experience between them. In only a short time they have adopted the ukulele and plucked out award-winning (Apra 2008) tunes such as Peas & Carrots, which is now a hot request from ukulele groups across the country looking for ‘beyond standard’ cover material.

2010 was an excellent year for The Nukes, with their first national tour of New Zealand, and 2011 sees The Nukes in the studio working on their debut studio album and tour dates throughout the country from their home patch Titirangi down to the Waipara Food and Wine Festival and many places in between. With their engaging mix of humour and originality their shows are unique and unmissable.
