The New Zealand Ukulele is a community event starring the world's largest ukulele orchestra, the fabulous Kiwileles! This year they number an incredible 2,500 players! Come and sing along with this Kiwi ukulele phenomenon as they play a set of popular, traditional and iconic songs such "Wipe Out", "Ode to Joy" and "Love Love Love".

From 12 pm till 4.30 there will be non-stop family entertainment over two stages, with free workshops, stalls, competitions, the Great Kiwi Uke-Along and give-aways. This year's festival is going to be bigger and better than ever. Comedian Pio and his talented son Teina will be the MCs, and you can even uke and vote! A polling booth has been provided. Bring the family, bring a picnic and spend your election day at the NZ Ukulele Festival 2011!

And when the day is done and you’ve cast your vote, you are invited to join us for an eclectic night of ukulele talent with NZ's seriously funny The Big Muffin Serious Band, Perth’s quirky Tyrone, Ak’s very own bad boys of uke The Nukes and young Australian virtuoso Thom Jackson. Whether your uke is red blue or green, whether you will be commiserating or celebrating, or whether you just want to wallow in political apathy, the Uke-Election Concert 2011 is the place to be! Election updates will be on screen and a cash bar and food will give you all the sustenance you need. It’ll be the best election party in town and you’re invited...

Tickets for the evening event ($25) on sale from November 3rd from Ticket Direct. Doors open at 6.30 for food and beverage. Concert starts at 7.30 pm.
