Fortune Theatre has proudly commissioned Ake Ake Theatre Company to devise a most delightful story for the school holidays.
Yugi is eleven years old, and cannot speak. He lives in the Black Mountains with his Mama and Papa. When his Papa is called away to war, Yugi is sent to live with his fierce Uncle Zsarsky. Uncle Zsarsky belongs to a gypsy carnival troupe and is fierce because he has lost his faith in the world.
Yugi becomes friends with Chika, a circus girl in his Uncle’s troupe. Together they find a way to restore Uncle Zsarsky’s faith in the world, and through helping his Uncle, Yugi discovers own voice.
The Little Jester is a celebration of life, love, friendship and family, all woven together in the magical world of circus. Come dance with us!
