The Exponents – formerly The Dance Exponents – have been part of New Zealand’s music, a part of our sound and our lives, for 30 years. To mark this major milestone they will perform one very special show “back where it all began”, in Christchurch next month.

To further celebrate the band’s 30 year anniversary. November 14th will see the release of Why Does Love Do This To Me: The Exponents Greatest Hits – a collection of the 24 biggest hits from one of New Zealand’s most loved bands. This also includes a brand new track, ‘It’s Rugby’, which was recorded specifically for this release.

The Dance Exponents debuted on the 15th October 1981, on front-man Jordan Luck’s 20th birthday, playing at the Hillsborough Tavern in Christchurch.

The Exponents (Jordan Luck, Brian Jones, Michael “Harry” Harallambi, & Dave Gent) will return to Christchurch and play at The Ferrymead Speights Ale House on Thursday 10th November. The Speights Ale House is the closest venue to the Hillsborough Tavern which burnt to the ground two years ago.

Over the three decades The Exponents have collected numerous awards with major hits, including "Why Does Love Do This To Me", "Who Loves Who The Most", "Victoria", "I'll Say Goodbye (Even Though I'm Blue)" and "Whatever Happened To Tracey" sung by generations of Kiwis.

Significantly The Exponents reformed for the Band Together concert last year following the tragedy of the Christchurch earthquake. The band’s song, Christchurch (In Cashel St I Wait) becoming a poignant theme for the event.

Tickets are on sale from midday, Friday 21 October and can be purchased via Ticketmaster www.ticketmaster.co.nz / 0800 111 999, Ticketek www.ticketek.co.nz / 0800 842 538 and from the venue, Ferrymead Speights Ale House, 2a Waterman Place 03) 376 4071.

The 24 track greatest hits album will be available on 14th November.
