Join Hairy Maclary and his friends at Te Manawa to celebrate the opening of Lynley Dodd: A Retrospective, along with the imminent opening of our two new galleries, Manawatū Journeys and Te Rangi Whenua.

Sat 24th:
Have fun with activities for all the family, including Hairy Maclary arts & crafts and film screenings, animal face painting and a farm animal petting zoo!

At 11am the Department of Conservation will also present Te Manawa with an award for our contributions to environmental sustainability.

Sun 25th:
Enjoy performances by cultural groups and a Te Wānanga o Aotearoa workshop.

Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra will be giving a free community concert at 4pm following a support act by Fielding High School’s talented ukulele group at 3pm. Come along and experience the musical excellence and comic brilliance of everybody’s favourite ukulele orchestra!

All weekend you can discover our school house and see what life was like 100 years ago in Tōtaranui Cottage!
