An acclaimed documentary on the small North Island forestry town of Minginui in the North Island’s Whirinaki Forest, built in the '40s to accommodate Forestry Department workers. NZFF director Bill Gosden describes Minginui as a “remarkable and disquietingly aestheticised documentary portrait... an eerily beautiful picture of torpor, isolation and decay – and of Maori culture enduring on the land, inhabiting the detritus of a western economy.”
Soup & A Seat: Make us your Friday lunch date and invite a friend. Every Friday at 12:15pm, from 19 August until 7 October, come in for homemade soup and a choice selection of films.
