Sirocco is one of only 131 kākāpō left on the planet and DOC are flying him to Wellington for a special one-month assignment: to charm Wellingtonians and help raise awareness for conservation and the Kākāpō Recovery Programme.

There are a limited number of sessions available every evening after dark. You will receive an indoors introduction at our Visitor Centre, including a short film, then head out in to the sanctuary valley to come face to face with the strange and charismatic Sirocco – an encounter to remember! Your viewing time with Sirocco will last approximately 25 minutes.
