Film synopsis:
This beautifully-shot film is based on the life of Roberto Ramos, a celebrated Brazilian writer and storyteller. It begins as Roberto is left by his desperate mother at a government institution advertised on television. Through enormous trials and deprivation, the illiterate Roberto survives by using his imagination – often using magic and humour to disguise the troubles around him. After an encounter with Margherita, a French pedagogue Roberto meets at the institution, his life changes forever.
