The champion brass quintet were formed in 2009 to compete in the inaugural NZ Brass Band Association Ensemble competition held in Christchurch. Against strong competition from all over New Zealand 'Shore Thing' took away the top prize and has subsequently stayed together performing at a variety of venues.
