Manawatu Dreaming is street theatre at its most visual and eye-catching.
Utilising the skills of established directors, choreographers, poets, dancers, actors, writers and visual artists from the region, Manawatu Dreaming will bring an aesthetic, cutting edge dynamic to Palmy’s streets and key venues, provoking thought and providing exhilarating entertainment.
Led by artistic director Angie Farrow, all manner of artists — dance, movement, theatre, skits, performance poetry and puppetry — will hit the streets to delight and intrigue you in many and varied ways: a procession exploring the elements of water, earth, air and fire; fire and “bubble” dances; one minute poetry, ten-minute theatre works and dance.
Street theatre will perform in Square Edge as part of the Viva la Manawatu event.
