Join three of New Zealand's leading climate experts as they discuss the impact of climate change and opportunities for agricultural trade at this free public seminar.
Dr Jim Salinger, Professor Caroline Saunders and business commentator Rod Oram are coming to Palmerston North as part of a nationwide tour to explain the nature of climate change and its impact on New Zealanders' health, properties, infrastructure, environment and rural industries in a Manawatu-Rangitikei context.
Formerly of NIWA, Dr Jim Salinger is an internationally renowned climate change scientist. He will present the latest information on climate change and its impacts on farming and communities at a local level.
Professor Caroline Saunders of Lincoln University has over 20 years' research experience in the UK and New Zealand. She will go into what climate change science means for agricultural trade and what cost-effective steps farmers can take to improve their economic viability and business opportunities in a changing world.
Rod Oram will discuss emissions trading, compare New Zealand's climate change targets with our trading partners' targets and address what this means for agricultural trade.
All are welcome to attend this thought-provoking event.
