For Playlist, van Hasselt has composed ten sequential pieces which she calls tracks; each carefully formed and arranged for maximum effect within a set time and space. While each is unique in media, format and purpose, the pieces flow and glide seamlessly as one unit.

Printed soft sculptures establish and conclude the series, throughout which repeated cyclic imagery links works in media as varied as oil paint, silkscreen and cast resin. Van Hasselt strives to keep her works fresh and interesting through re-mixing and re-sampling imagery. Sets are punctuated with meticulously rehearsed cues and breaks creating smooth transitions from one piece to the next.
