Calling for people to join Dress Nelson and knit up the city for spring!

You can be part of this funky project!

Meet new friends and learn new skills at our Knit Togethers. Happening at The Free House Tuesday evenings 7-9 pm & RED Art Gallery Thursday afternoons 2-4 pm.

Think beyond the needles and explore your creativity through 'adopting' an object or area to install your work in the central city. Maybe a tree is calling for hand-crafted birds, a lamppost or a parking meter needs a wonderful wrapper, a parkbench some decorated legs, it’s up to you!

Getting your needles out is only the beginning. Think creatively to Dress Nelson and make it shine. Clean out your cupboards, recycle and reuse a variety of materials to knit, knot weave, tie, dangle, plait, stretch your imagination!

If you haven't the time to knit a full project but would enjoy knitting a few squares we also need your help! Get stitching, drop off our creations at the Nelson Mail and we will pass them on to our graffiti knitters street team.

Donations of materials can be dropped off and collected at all Nelson Mail offices in Nelson and Richmond.
