Final confirmation it now follows two other events in the Meteor Theatre on the 22nd of September. So the time is late starting at 10.00PM till 10.45pm/11pm....
A narrated and mimed presentation of an event that has shaped part of Scotland's history and relationships between two clans. In reality, there was more to the situation with soldiers from lowland and other highland clans involved, but, King William and Dalgleish, the Master of Stair, were more to blame, and this was obscured by the blatant breaking of the unwritten laws of highland hospitality.
First presented as part of the 2011 Tartan Day celebrations, the pageant was considered well worthy of a repeat to a wider audience.
Come and catch a glimpse of the turmoil of cattle-stealing, wedding disruption, clan disdain for King William's dictates. The MacDonalds facing off Campbell retaliation for cattle stealing and general harassment, and how Redcoats were provided hospitality in the Glen and then heinously used it to further the machinations of the King William's aspirations in the Scottish highlands. The massacre in Glen Coe was an action that even Queen Mary, King William's wife, was instrumental in condemning.
Seating is random. Inquiries to David McLachlan: 021 279 7128. Children free.
