Haka is a Māori arts and cultural exposition based in the stunning Hamilton Gardens - located in the heart of the Waikato - Tainui tribal region.
Haka provides New Zealanders & international visitors the unique opportunity to participate in a variety of interactive & educational Māori arts & cultural workshops, activities & tours whilst visiting iconic regional attractions – Hamilton Gardens, Te Parapara & the Waikato River.
Learn a haka or poi dance, paddle a large waka (canoe) on the mighty Waikato River, weave a flax item for a loved one, watch a traditional weaponry display, purchase authentic Māori art & craft, view an exhibition, be entertained by local Māori performing artists, enjoy a steaming hot hāngi meal, sample traditional foods or participate in a tour to learn about Māori traditional horticultural practices and medicinal plants. Ta Moko (traditional Māori tattoo) artists also available.
Price:
Free entry. A range of affordable Māori arts and cultural workshops, activities, tours and entertainment will also be available.
