Animation Open Day

Learn about a career in animation:
In a 45 minute presentation you will learn about how an animated movie is made. Follow the 3D studio pipeline from story to post-production. Discover various creative and technical roles for animation artists, and learn about study options for a career in this exciting area.

See live demonstrations:
Following the main presentation, take a look around South Seas training facilities and watch demonstrations of professional digital painting and 3D animation techniques by experienced industry artists. Demonstrations are projected on a big screen in two different computer labs. Feel free to join either anytime throughout the day for as long as you like.

Join a life drawing session:
Join any life drawing session, starting every half hour. Figure drawing from a live model is considered one of the best ways to develop your understanding of form and anatomy, necessary skills in 3D modelling and character animation. Limited materials available but bring your own sketchpad and pencil, or a laptop and drawing tablet if you have one.

Open to anyone with an interest in animation over 16 years old. Refreshments provided. Session times start 10.00am, 11.30am and 1pm. Enter the draw to win a 4-day animation course.
