Race walking in the Victorian age was an exciting spectator sport which attracted massive crowds! In 1888 New Zealand’s first world record holder Joe Scott was a household name, but his exploits are largely forgotten.
Athol Parks (City Walks) and Andrew Smith (Hair Raiser Tours) will pull on their racing singlets for this exciting inaugural event! It took four days to win the champion of the world belt in 1888. Come and support these two champion walkers of Dunedin in their quest for eternal glory!
