SCAPE Panel Discussion - The Press Festival of Ideas
How does our social history and architectural inheritance create a sense of place? Given the recent events that have changed Christchurch significantly, what role does memory play in the revitalisation of urban space? And, how do we view and take advantage of public art in this process?
Chair: Priscilla Pitts (General Manager, Heritage Destinations, New Zealand Historic Places Trust Pouhere Taonga, Wellington)
Panel: Bruce Russell (Sound Artist, Christchurch), Jonathan Mane-Wheoki (Maori Art Historian and Cultural Historian, Auckland), Dr Jacky Bowring (Landscape Architect, Christchurch), William Fulton (Architect, Christchurch), Anton Parsons (SCAPE Artist, Auckland).
This session is brought to you by SCAPE in association with Christchurch Arts Festival and in partnership with New Zealand Historic Places Trust Pouhere Taonga.
Held in the TelstraClear Club, North Hagley Park Events Village.
