Since making his first recording in 1960, Christchurch-born pianist and composer Mike Nock still remains at forefront of Australasian jazz — US magazine Jazz Times dubbed him “…an international treasure”. He’s played with some of the world’s best musicians, from Johnny O’Keefe to Dionne Warwick, and is joined in the trio by two of Australia’s elite young creative musicians, bassist Ben Waples and his brother, drummer James Waples. The Trio’s most recent album, An Accumulation of Subtleties, was awarded Best Australian Contemporary Jazz Album at the 2011 Bell Awards.
Held in the TelstraClear Club, North Hagley Park Events Village.
