Auckland Museum is marking World Water Monitoring Day and Conservation Week by diving into our own water and seeing what we discover. In conjunction with Waicare & Landcare, come along to find out everything you wanted to know about our water but were afraid to ask. Water from our region will be examined and tested by scientists with the results shared firsthand with our visitors. You can even have a go at ‘dipping’ for water at the site of Auckland’s first water source; the Domain ponds and streams. Watercare’s Great Drain Game will also be set up outside so you can explore the curious workings of the storm water drain system. Come and see the diversity of plant and marine life living in our waterways and decide whether New Zealand’s water deserves the “100% pure” label.
